What Is PECI™?
PECI™ (Paranormal Evidence Credibility Index) is a transparent, process-based credibility framework designed to evaluate how paranormal investigations are conducted, not what conclusions are reached.
PECI™ provides investigators, teams, media, researchers, and the public with a clear, consistent way to assess investigative rigor, evidence handling, and professional integrity.
PECI™ does not determine whether phenomena are “real.”
It evaluates whether investigations are conducted credibly.
Why PECI™ Exists
The paranormal field lacks a universal, defensible standard for evaluating investigative quality.
PECI™ was created to address that gap.

What PECI™ Measures
PECI™ evaluates investigations across five weighted dimensions:
1. Investigator Qualification
Training, experience, and disclosure of professional background.
2. Methodology Rigor
Use of baselines, planning, documentation, and bias awareness.
3. Evidence Integrity
Original file retention, metadata completeness, and chain of custody.
4. Peer Review & Validation
Independent review, consensus transparency, and replication attempts.
5. Transparency & Ethics
Consent, ethical disclosures, and clear separation of observation and interpretation.
Each dimension contributes to a total credibility score (0–100).
How PECI™ Is Applied
Case-Level
Each investigation receives a PECI™ score based on documented practices.
Investigator-Level
Scores roll up over time to reflect consistency and professionalism.
Team-Level
Aggregated scores provide a public trust signal for groups and organizations.
